Spotlight On Reddish is a modest promotional and funding support opportunity that Reddish Events are offering to local organisations and community groups in Reddish.
Running from September 1st 2025 to April 1st 2026 - or until all our ring fenced funds have been allocated - we are looking to support a run of community events in Reddish. These will be supported alongside our two annual events, so if you're Reddish based, we'd like to know if you have any events that you would like us to support.
We've placed a form below for you to submit your event(s), with a detailed FAQ to outline the terms, conditions and criteria for this support.
Please remember that due to limited funds, this is a first come first served opportunity, and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Submissions will be viewed on a weekly basis, therefore some be same day assessed.
SPOTLIGHT ON REDDISH FAQ TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Q: What amounts of funding are available?
A: From £50 for a small day or evening event maybe, to £250 for perhaps a 2/3 day event. In addition, we will support you with a paid for social media campaign.
~ ~ ~
Q: Who can apply for this support?
A: Any organisation, group, local business or individual based in Reddish by home or business address, with the event that requires support taking place in Reddish.
~ ~ ~
Q: Are there any criteria to consider that will disqualify us from being awarded funding?
A: Yes but nothing out of the ordinary; in addition to the requirement to be resident in Reddish as a group, local business or organisation, with your event being held in Reddish, the team considering your submission will look at any potential issues arising that may be due to any percieved agression, prejudice, political affiliation or illegal activity. You may apply for more than one event - this is ok - but of course if funds start to become limited, we may have to limit you to one event.

Q: Will any type of events be given preference?
A: Submissions will be viewed on a weekly basis, with awards made on a first come first served basis.
In terms of amounts awarded we do have two aims:
1) We are looking to fund a wide ranging programme of events that cover all ages and abilities, is inclusive and diverse in it's representation of Reddish arts, culture, heritage and local communities.
2) We are looking to see if any events submitted are likely to have been overlooked for funding elsewhere, and likely to miss out on other sources of income.
This may mean some events may miss out on our funding awards, but we will be making every effort to provide every submission that qualifies, with a positive response and support by way of publicity.

Q: Will there be a written agreement?
A: Yes, a few words that in principle state very clearly that you are responsbile for all aspects of your event, and you agree to act without prejudice towards others in our community and our community team. Our role will be to simply provide you with support as a third party; we will not monitor your event, but we will ask for a short report, and only in the event of a serious concern might we withold our support if it appears you have acted inappropriately or illegally. Intervention on our part will be a last resort.

Q: Will the funding be available to us before the event?
A: The funding award will be paid once you have provided a very short report on your event for our funders evaluation. Obviously any additional support, promotional / logistical, will be provided before the event.
~ ~ ~
Q: What happens if the event is cancelled?
A: If we have agreed to fund an element of your event that still has to be paid, then we will pay this once we have recieved a report for our evaluation. Otherwise, funding can be carried over to a new date for your event.
~ ~ ~
Q: Who will decide who receives funding and how much?
A: We will look at your submission form and come to a decision based on the opinions of three members of our team.
~ ~ ~
Q: Can we ask questions, discuss this further, query your decision?
A: Yes of course. We are here to help. not hinder, and not to judge you. We'd like to give you as much support as we can, so if needs be please e-mail spotlightreddish@gmail.com and we will look to reply as soon as we can. Please do not contact us or leave messages via social media as these might not be seen.
